She was born in Springfield, Ohio July 21, 1928, to the late Charles F. and Florence (Cowgill) Jenkins. She married Raymond E. “Ray” Hurley September 8, 1946 in Springfield, and he preceded her in death February 11, 2006. She was also preceded in death by two sisters, Nancy Bynum and Virginia Bainter and son-in-law, Steve Davis.
She is survived by her children, Marcus R. Hurley of Roswell, New Mexico, Peter A. Hurley of Belle Center, Ohio, Jennifer (Ron) Hollon of Harrod, Ohio and Amy S. Davis of Bellefontaine, Ohio, and ten grandchildren, Ben, Rachel, Avery, Jesse, Molly, Chris, Emma, Seth, Erin and Sean; five great grandchildren; a sister Milly Parr of New Carlisle, Ohio, and numerous nieces and nephews.
A homemaker, Sue was a member of the Huntsville United Methodist Church, and former board member at MRDD. She raised poodles and was a great animal lover.
Pastor Bryan Meadows will officiate a memorial service Tuesday, February 1, 2013 at 1:00pm at the Huntsville United Methodist Church where the family will receive friends one hour prior to the service starting at 12 noon. Interment will be at the Garwood Cemetery in Logan County at a later date.
Memorial contributions may be made to: Special Olympics or to the Logan County Humane Society.
