Born October 5, 1946, in Fairfield, IA, Connie Sue was the daughter of Arnold and Betty (Wimpsett) Crable. She attended school in Fairfield, IA. On May 20, 1963, Connie married David William "Bill" Bailey in Fairfield.

A devoted wife and mother, raising her children was Connie's priority and to this day, when talking with them finished with, "I love you more." When all of her children were in school, Connie joined the workforce and was employed by Modine in Washington, IA, for 31 years before retiring.

Connie was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in East Pleasant Plain and later joined Green Mound Church of God near Trenton, IA. When her children were young, she was a Girl Scout leader. Connie's favorite pastime was spending time with her grandchildren. An amazing cook, she adored animals, traveling throughout the United States with her husband, shopping on QVC, quilting, and sewing. She enjoyed joining different groups of friends to quilt, shop for the holidays, and a cup of coffee. She loved to play cards and visit the casinos near and far from home.

Along with her loving husband, Bill, of 54 years, Connie is survived by a son, Scott Bailey of East Pleasant Plain, IA; two daughters, Joy Leafgreen Bailey of Batavia, Ia, and Tina (Darcy Brinkman) Andrew of Mt. Pleasant, IA; three grandchildren, Sheldon (Lindsey Kiechle) Thompson, Bailey Andrew, and Jessi Andrew. She is also survived by her loyal "fur baby" known as Cindy Sue.

Connie was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Peggy Sidwell and Penny Glass; and a step-father, Wayne Eckhardt.
