Virgil M. Milburn Dead

Birgil Milton Milburn, son of H. M. Milburn, of Dermot, Kans., died at the Tucker-Hansen hospital, Saturday evening, from injuries received at the rodeo at Ulysses Friday, never having regained consciousness. Dr. C.O. Mays happend in Ulysses and was attending the rodeo, when a call was announced for a doctor, and when no other responded Dr. Mays answered, and found young Milburn apparently in a serious condition. Dr. Mays administered to the unconscious man and brought him to the hospital, wher he died without regaining consciousness. Milburn had won the first prize in the riding, and dismounting his horse got away from him with the saddle still on. He mounted his own horse and went in search of the outlaw horse. It is not known just what happened, but it is thought his horse must have fallen with and on him, injuring him fatally. The funeral was held at Dermot Sunday afternoon and burial made in the Dermot cemetery.
