Ardelle was born on Jan. 16, 1912, to John Peter and Catherine Emma (Winkels) King in McIntire, Iowa. She grew up on a farm near Adams and lived her young adult life mostly in St. Paul. In 1952 Ardelle moved to Los Angeles, Calif., where she worked as an executive secretary for the Santa Fe Railway Company until her retirement.
Ardelle lived in Providence, Utah for the past six years, near her son and his family. They will greatly miss her love, inspiration and perseverence.
Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Gary Michael and Tie Geng Meunier; two granddaughters, Mira Ardelle Meunier and Kara Hua Meunier.
She is preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Alexander, Alfred and Henry; and sisters, Leonarda and Julia.
A memorial mass will be celebrated 1 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 29, 2007, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, in Adams, with Father James Seitz officiating. Friends may call one hour before the service at the church. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery, in Austin.
