Gladys Pauline Macon, age 87, of Albany, Texas passed away on Thursday, August 23, 2007 in an Abilene hospital.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 25, 2007 at the Albany Church of Christ with Rev. Anthony Parker and Rev. Brian Cope officiating. Burial will be in the Albany Cemetery under the direction of Godfrey - Neese Funeral Home of Albany.
She was born on June 7, 1920 in Cove Arkansas. She married W. D. "Dub" Macon on October 15, 1948. He preceded her in death on October 11, 1984. She was a member of the Church of Christ. During the 1940's she was the assistant County Clerk then worked for J. Carter King Insurance Agency for 19 years. she then worked for Shackelford County Abstract until her retirement.
Survivors include: one son, Larry Macon of Albany; one grandson, J. D. Macon of Albany; one sister, Kathleen Hagaer of Fort Worth, Texas; and several nieces and nephews.
