Jeanne Marie Wagner Taylor

Jeanne Marie, age 90, longtime resident of Gulf Breeze, Florida, passed away on May 31, 2020. She was born in The Bronx where she was raised with her four brothers, Robert, Bernard, Harold, and George, whom she adored. Her loving mother and stepfather, Mary and Harry Kuhne, were the center of her universe.

Throughout her adult life she maintained strong ties to her extended family in the New York area while living on Marine Corps bases up and down the east coast with her husband and children and then settling in Gulf Breeze. Wherever she lived, she engaged in active pursuits: softball, bowling, swimming, and water aerobics. She also found time to model in fashion shows and enjoy the nearest beach.

Jeanne began her career in the travel industry as a ticket agent for National Airlines in Manhattan in the early 1950s and ultimately established a travel agency, Carefree Travel, in Gulf Breeze with her late husband, Arthur. Up to her last days, she continued to reminisce about the agency.

Jeanne and Art's house, in Santa Rose Shores, where she lived since 1980 until recently, was recognized and admired for its mailbox painted with dalmatian dots. She was often seen out walking along the golf course with one of her dogs and always shared her life with a cat or two, most recently her beloved Gabby. Their home was the heart and center of family gatherings.

Jeanne lived life with a deep devotion to family. She is mourned by her two younger brothers and their wives: Harold and Christine Kuhne, George and Barbara Kuhne; her children: Maria Montoux Gren, Erik and wife Lorrie Cook, and Adam Cook; her grandchildren: Sarah and husband Kevin, Rachel and husband Joe, Jonathan, Julia, and Joshua; and her great grandchildren: Iris, Theo, and Liam; along with extended family members and many wonderful friends. Precious memories of her sense of humor and glamorous style live on in family stories. She will be so missed.

A special wish inscribed in her 80th birthday book is still heartfelt today:

Cherished Daughter, Sister, Aunt, Wife, Mother, Granny, and Granny2—whether channeling Grace Kelly or Lucille Ball, we are so grateful to have you in our lives. Wishing you sunny days and silly times, baseball dreams and plenty of occasions to wear white gloves.

Memorials may be made in honor of Jeanne Marie Wagner Taylor to Pensacola Humane Societyhttps://www.pensacolahumane.org/ and SOCKS (Save Our Cats and Kittens)http://www.saveourcatsandkittens.com.

The family would like to express their sincerest gratitude to Sharon Oakes, a trusted friend who lovingly helped the family navigate living and care options for our mother throughout the past two and a half years. And a special thank you to Anna and other dedicated nurses and assistants who cared for our mother with kindness and respect.

Celebration of Life services for Jeanne will be announced at a later date to give her family an opportunity to travel for the gathering
