Mr. Jackie Ray Barker age 65, of Hope, Arkansas, passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his family on Thursday, October, 24, 2019. Jack was born on March 10, 1954 to Bobby Barker and Ola Mae Barker Mayfield in Magnolia, AR. He came to know the man he called dad, Mr. Leroy Mayfield, at the age of five.

He loved his Lord and Savior above all and shared the gospel with a servant's heart. He was a member of Unity Baptist Church where he served as deacon for 28 years, taught Sunday school, and was active in several other ministries. He retired as a self-employed forester. He was a gifted athlete who enjoyed sports, a love for the outdoors, woodworking, hunting, fishing, and coaching his daughters in softball. One of his greatest pleasures was spending time with his family and being a papaw to his grandkids. He is preceded in death by Bobby Barker and Mr. Leroy Mayfield; and one sister, Rhonda Barker Flaherty.

He is survived by his wife of 45 years; Vicki Orr Barker of Hope, AR, Two daughters; Jennifer Murphy and Marcus of Hope, AR, Courtney Hamilton and Adam of Hope, AR, Three grandchildren; Jordyn Grace, Emma Kate, and Braxton Ellis Murphy all of Hope, AR, his mother; Ola Mae Mayfield of Magnolia, AR, one brother; Dwain Mayfield and Laurie of El Dorado, AR, several nieces, nephews, and a host of family and friends.

Funeral service will be 2:00pm, Sunday, October 27, 2019 at BRAZZEL/Oakcrest Funeral Home with Bro. Glen Tropp and Bro. Jay Pollan officiating. Burial to follow at Memory Gardens in Hope, Arkansas.
