Joseph Littleton Collier, commonly known as Lytt, was born 1 August 1875 to Iverson and Margaret Jane Johnson Collier in Upshur County, Texas. About 1880 the family moved to neighboring Franklin county where he met and married Lillie Gay Choate on 13 August 1896. To this union were born four children. The first was triplet girls, Stella, Della, and Ella. Stella died soon and Della lived about four years. They are buried in Franklin county. A son Farris was born a few years later and Ella and Farris lived to be adults. The family moved to Dallas county near Mesquite where Lytt lived the honorable life of a hard working farmer until his death 5 Jun 1942.
