Guy was born on February 23, 1969 in Houston, Texas to parents, James "Gene" and Kathryn (Verser) Garner. He grew up in the area, graduating from Scarborough High School. Guy loved sports, but unfortunately due to his heart condition he was restricted from certain sports and couldn't take part in football, basketball, or track. However, he enjoyed his years spent playing Little League and youth baseball and flag football. He maintained a lifelong love of sports (especially Alabama Football – Roll Tide!). Guy later continued his education at the University of Houston where he studied to be a Machinist.

Guy enjoyed childhood trips to Industry and New Ulm to see family and later became a resident of Brenham. Guy was a resident of Brenham for over 20 years. Guy's employment varied throughout the years, from MIC, Coca-Cola, Sealy Mattress, Brenham LP Gas, and Sharp Propane. But no matter where he worked, one constant was his gift for connecting with people. Guy started his own small business, Ultra Clean Pressure Washing, in 2001, and eventually was able to do it full-time. He enjoyed spending extra time at the homes of his clients visiting with them after completing his work.

Guy was truly a people person. He could get along well with anyone and never met a stranger. He could relate to people of all ages. He enjoyed conversations with people who were elderly and enjoyed good times with his younger friends. He had a fun-loving nature and loved joking with people. He seemed to have a fun nickname for everyone he knew. Guy's good-natured humor and big heart won him many treasured friends, many of which called him "Big G" or "G Money".

Guy and wife, Dalanne, were married on February 28, 2003 in Washington County. They enjoyed life together in Brenham, raising Dalanne's boys, Chance and Tyler. He was so proud of Chance for starting his own business, and of Tyler for graduating from University of Houston. Guy was very involved and supportive of the boys and loved them like they were his own sons. When the boys were young, Guy enjoyed being involved with their baseball and football games.

Guy treasured time with friends and family. He was an excellent host and enjoyed cooking delicious dishes for everyone. He was famous for his spaghetti and lasagna. He and Dalanne enjoyed gathering everyone around the table for dinner, eating, drinking, and talking for hours. Guy especially looked forward to the gatherings at Christmas, his favorite holiday, and their annual Superbowl party. He also enjoyed hunting and fishing, and listening to good old country music. He was especially fond of his spunky little Boston Terrier, Rocky.

Guy was known and loved by many, and his big heart and genuine love for others set a wonderful example for us to follow. He will be greatly missed.

Guy is survived by loving wife, Dalanne; sons, Chance and Tyler; dad, Gene, and stepmother, Barbara; mom, Ruthann Garner; half-brother, Randy Garner; brother-in-law, George "Scooter" Kettering and wife, Fran; niece, Cheyenne Kettering; and numerous other aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends; and his beloved dog, Rocky.

Guy is preceded in death by his half-sister, Beverly Garner, and all of his grandparents.

Honorary pallbearers will be Chance and Tyler Garner, Cheyenne Kettering, Keith Hamilton, Aaron Moehler, Jeff Harper, Max Wood, Jeff Myklebust, Ted Bashinski, Pete Naumann, Jonathon "Bubba" Green, Ryan Lewis, Lyle Lester, and Frank Kologinczak.
