He is survived by his children: Danielle (Robert) Gordon of Peoria, IL, their children (Alice, Emily, Molly, and Paul), Sean Patrick McGlone of Louisville, KY, and Devin Michael McGlone of Peoria, IL; and their mother, Judith (James) Cochran of Clanton, AL. In addition to brothers: Stephen (Mary) McGlone of Bend, OR, Kenton (Joan) McGlone of Royersford, PA, Richard (Denise) Flauding of Arlington, TX, and former spouse Margaret Johnson.
Dan graduated from Buena Park High School in 1965 and Cal State Fullerton in 1973. He served two tours in Vietnam as a US Marine, honorably discharged as Sergeant in 1970. He moved from Anaheim, California to Palatine, IL employed by Union Oil for 24 years, later moving to Streamwood, IL. He and his family settled in Bartlett, IL where he served as a soccer coach for the community for over fifteen years, in addition to playing for the Bartlett Saints men's team. In 1997 Dan moved to Tavernier, FL to run his own bicycle shop, tending to a lifelong hobby. Dan enjoyed bicycling, cross-country skiing, scuba diving and sailing. Dan retired and moved to Greenville, TX in 2015, where he spent his final years traveling with his partner, Carolyn Staley, and their dogs Piper and Sox.
Memorial service will take place in October 2020 in Florida through the Eternal Reefs.
