Samuel H. Marshall died at his home in Carthage last week at the age of 78 years, after a lingering illness.
Mr. Marshall had been a resident of Mt. Vernon for ten years prior to the time of moving to Carthage. He came here from Garden City, MO., where he was a merchant for many years.
Funeral services were held at the Fossett Funeral Home here on Sunday, followed by burial in the IOOF cemetery.
Mr. Marshall is survived by his widow, Laura Marshall, one son, Lt. Col. Hugh E. Marshall of Tallahassee, Fla., one granddaughter, and one grandson, Betty and Richard Marshall of Florida.
