Ruth died peacefully at home at 1:30 in the morning with her son Richie watching over her.

Ruth was a 1961 graduate of Patchogue-Medford High School where she excelled at many things, including cheerleading. Later, her talents included being a Hair Stylist, Secretary, and Store Manager. But she will mostly be remembered as the nurse in charge at John J. Foley Nursing Home. She worked hard and was a hero nurse to many. Ruth is survived by her son, Richard, and her sisters, Shirley Zajicek and Betty Rice.
Family received friends on Sunday, June 14th, from 8:30am to 10:00am at the Ruland Funeral Home in Patchogue. At 10AM, a Closing Prayer was offered at the funeral home. Interment followed in Cedar Grove Cemetery on Jennings Avenue in Patchogue, NY.
