Warren was the son of Rev. W. G. Bass Sr and Carestine Denson. He was educated in the Bibb County School System and attended Unionville Elementary School and Southwest High School in Macon, Georgia. He was employed with Bearings and Drives Inc of Macon, Georgia at the time of his death. He was a member of the Travelers Home Baptist Church in Ideal, Georgia.
