Faye Dean Miller, 94, of Pampa passed away on June 12, 2020 in Pampa, Tx.
Services will be 10:00 AM Wednesday, June 17, 2020 at Carmichael-Whatley Colonial Chapel with Rev. Norman Rushing, pastor of Central Baptist Church, and Rev. Joel Shumate officiating. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors. The funeral will be live streamed at https://www.carmichael-whatley.com/page/live-streaming.
Faye Dean was born November 5, 1925 in Iowa Park, Wichita County, Texas to Joseph and Lula Mae Auwen. After attending Electra high school she married Earl F. Miller on October 20, 1942 in Walters, Oklahoma; he passed away on February 19, 1985. They made their home in Pampa in 1943, where they joined the Central Baptist Church, and both served in ministry and taught in Sunday school for many years. After serving in her home and her children faithfully during their school years, she worked for the City of Pampa as a municipal court clerk for 29 years, retiring in 1986. During her time there she worked with numerous attorneys and even served as interim municipal judge for a bit. After her retirement she kept busy by doing custom ironing at her home. She also began to baby sit children for a while, which later turned into a caregiver for adults. She started as a caretaker for her mother at Pampa Nursing Center. Where for 11 years she would go faithfully 2 times a day to feed and care for her. Faye Dean was part of the “Care Bears” crew that loved to help and care for the elderly. From the Charleston to the Texas two-step, Faye Dean loved to dance. Through the years she would write poetry for her family which they cherished. She was always ready to share a glass of sweet tea, a joke, even the corny ones, with anyone who would listen. The smile on her face and the twinkle in her beautiful blue eyes was loved by all. The wisdom and love she shared made her a mother to many.
As she would say to us, we now say to you, we love you a bushel and peck and a hug around the neck. We will see you again if the good Lord is willin’ and the creek don’t rise. We love YOU the most.
She was preceded in death by her parents Joe and Mae Auwen, her son, Mickey Miller; her sister, Juanita DeFord; and her nephews, Doug Auwen and Larry Dean Perkins, and son-in-law Noal Clemmons.
Survivors include a daughter, Linda Clemmons of Lefors; a son, Butch Miller and wife Lana of Pampa; a sister, Jonnie Humphrey of League City; a brother, Thomas Auwen and wife Judith of Pampa. She was a wonderful Nana to her 3 grandchildren; Mickey Joe Miller of Lewisville , Cody Miller of Templeton, California, and Devney Anderson and husband Michael of Pampa; 5 great grandchildren, Megan Gutierrez and husband Johnny, Mason Brandenburg and wife Caitlin, Cooper Anderson, Chas Frick, and Nevin Miller; 3 great great grandchildren, Weston Jones, Aubrie Jones, and Jameson Brandenburg; and an aunt to John Wesley, Joseph and Debbie Perkins; Linda Shimek, Connie and Ray Skaines, Sue and Benny Richardson, Kay and Lynn Stroud, Daryl and Christa Auwen and David and Misty Auwen.
