LATE MR. JOHN BASSETT
The friends of Mr. John Bassett of Hodgson Street, Sailor's Gully Eaglehawk will regret to learn of his death which occurred yesterday morning. The deceased gentleman who was 40 years of age was unmarried and was a son of the late Mr. James Bassett. As a miner he worked at several of the mines in the district for a number of years and was well known and respected by a large circle of friends. His remains will be interred in the Eaglehawk Cemetery this afternoon.

LATE MR. J. BASSETT.
The remains of the late Mr. John Bassett, of Hodgson Street, Sailors' Gully, Eaglehawk were interred in the Methodist section of the Eaglehawk Cemetery yesterday. The Rev. J. Polkinghorne conducted a short service at the house and also officiated at the grave. The burial service in connection with the Loyal Catherine Lodge, M.U., was read by Bro. W. James, X.G. The pall-bearers were Messrs. L. Cowling, C. Dunn. W. James and R. Smith. Mr. A. Joy was the funeral director.
