Judith A. Bowers, 67, of Ephrata, died at her residence on Wednesday, April 12, 2006. She was born in Lancaster, she is the daughter of Violet M. Stehman Dietrich of Ephrata and the late Walter Dietrich. She was the wife of John "Jack" Bowers. They celebrated their 48th anniversary on June 30th. She was a member of the Lutheran Church of the Holy Trinity of Ephrata, where she was a Sunday school teacher and sang in the choir. She had worked in the cafeteria of the Ephrata Junior High School retiring in 1995. Judy enjoyed her children, grandchildren and traveling. Surviving in addition to her husband are two sons, John D., husband of Cindy Cambell Bowers, of Narvon, and Jan S., husband of Christine Kratzer Bowers, of Ephrata; and four grandchildren, Jessica, Zachary, Austin, and Brianna Bowers. She was preceded in death by a son, Jeffrey K. Bowers. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday evening, April 18th at 7 p.m. at the Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, 167 E. Main St., Ephrata, with Rev. Henry E. Herbener officiating. The family will receive friends from 6 to 7 p.m. prior to the service. Burial will be in Kreider's Brethren Cemetery, Penn Township on Wednesday at 10 a.m. The family requests memorial contributions in Judith's memory be sent to Lutheran Church of the Holy Trinity, 167 E.
