Steven D. Long of Coon Rapids passed away on Monday, March 25, 2019 at Thomas Rest Haven in Coon Rapids. He was born on April 16, 1961 to Carol Richards and the Late Clayton Long.
Steve graduated from Glidden-Ralston High School in 1979. In 1980 he enlisted into the United States Marine Corps., receiving an Honorable Discharge in 1984. After his service, he worked for Pepsi Cola in San Diego, CA for a brief time before returning to his hometown in Iowa.
At home he was employed at Frigidaire in Jefferson, IA. It was there that many friendships were created. These friendships continued after the plant closed and were very important to Steve.
In 1982 Steve was united into marriage with Terri Ragan, along with her children Lesa, Lori and Jesse.
Steve was definately an outdoor person. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, mushroom hunting, deer watching, gardening, nascar and for a few years, racing his own stock car. He also enjoyed helping his nieces, and great nieces with their 4-H projects/animals.
Steve is survived by his girlfriend Shauna Borkowski, mother Carol Richards of Coon Rapids, brother Jim Long of Coon Rapids, sisters Deena (John) Merit and Gina (Lee) Arnold all of Coon Rapids, nieces Cassie, Allie, Jacobe, Skyla, Jayce, Jorrie, nephew Dalton and their families. Lesa, Lori, Jesse and their families. The Borkowski Family and many other Relatives and Friends.
Steve was proceeded in death by his father Clayton Long, Step Father Don Richards, Niece Brianna Esslinger, both maternal and paternal grandparents, aunts, uncles and other relatives.
