Oak Ridge – Mrs. Jo Ann Solomon Williams, 85, passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 6, 2020 at Wesley Long Hospital. She was born on July 1, 1934 in Guilford County to Joseph Thomas and Verda Blaylock Solomon. She was a charter member of Central Baptist Church and she loved the Lord as well as her church family. Jo Ann loved her family and often stated “If her family was okay, then she was okay”. She really enjoyed working outside in her flowers. She was so friendly and loved people. Jo Ann also loved cats. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother who will be greatly missed.

In addition to her parents, Jo Ann was preceded in death by her son, Mark R. Williams. Left to cherish her memory are her loving husband of 69 ½ years, J.C. Williams; one daughter, Kimberly W. Carter (husband, Vernon B. Carter); five grandchildren; and eleven great grandchildren.

A funeral service for Jo Ann will be held at 11:45 am on Wednesday, June 10, 2020 at Central Baptist Church in Oak Ridge with Rev. Roy Carter and Rev. David Miller officiating. The family will receive friends from 11:00 am until 11:30 am prior to the service in the church gymnasium. A private family graveside will follow the service.
