James W. “Jim” “Doc” Hawley Jr. MD, 66, passed away Thursday, June 4, 2020 near his home in Wheatland.

Jim was born in Arkansas on Sunday, September 6, 1953 the son of James W. and Jimmie D. (Wallace) Hawley Sr.

Jim lived and attended public school in the Quachita County area of Arkansas and received several degrees including his Doctor of Medicine from the University of Arkansas located in Little Rock, Arkansas in 1988.

Jim was known as “Bubba” by his early friends and family. He worked various jobs in Arkansas including high school math teacher before coming to Wyoming to pursue a medical career. Doc Hawley recently celebrated over 25 years caring for people in southeast Wyoming emergency rooms. He always answered requests for help on the fly, off campus, in house, and had a deep loyalty to EMS.

He is survived by his wife, Koni Hawley of Wheatland; daughter, Heather (Ryan) Ridolfi of Torrington, Wyoming; step-sons, Newly Matthews and Philip (Joni) Matthews both of Wheatland; sister, Amy Hawley of Bandera, Texas; grandson, Austin Ridolfi of Torrington; and step-grandchildren, Bryce Matthews, Rylee Matthews, Alexandria Matthews, Alyssa Matthews, Annaliese Matthews, and Asher Matthews all of Wheatland.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
