Published in Redondo Reflex Redondo CA, July 16 1942 Thurs Page 2---Dr. F. J. White- Coming as a great shock to his many friends in this community was the death, Monday night, of Dr. F. J. White, beloved husband of Mary White. Dr. White had been in poor health for the past twp months, but had recovered sufficiently to drive into Redondo Beach Monday where he greeted his friends from the car. He had been able to accompany his daughter, Doris, to the train, as she left for a months training in Chicago, before she assumed a post in religious work in San Pedro. Death was due to a heart attack.
Dr. White for many years was president of the Brotherhood in the Methodist Church, where the entire fsmily was very active. He was also a member of the Redondo masonic Lodge.
He was 66 years of age at the time of death and had lived in Redeondo Beach since 1912, coming here from Corona where he had practised some time. He graduated from the Osteopathi College in Los Angeles in 1907 and later took post graduate work at the same place.
Surviving relatives other than those in the immediate home were two sisters, Ada Craig and Jennie Brown and one brother jessie white, all in the East or North. Dr. Meredith White and Jack White are nephews.
Dr. White was married to Mary Springer in London Ontario Canada and they remained there for two years. The family has endeared itself to Redondo Beac through their many friendly gestures. Mrs. White's lovely voice has eased many heart ache and Dr., White's gay chuckles and ready smiles brought him hundreds of loving friends. He gave programs on many occasions and loved to gather his friends around a glowing fire while he played his guitar for the singing of old and new songs.
Funeral services will be held Friday afternoon at the Redondo Methodist Church at 2 o'clock. William Neland will be in charge.
