Professional Football Player. For ten seasons (1960 to 1969), he played at the defensive tackle position in the American Football League with the Dallas Texans and New York Jets. Born Paul Gordon Rochester, he attended Sewanhaka High School in New York and played collegiate football at Michigan State University. Signed as an non drafted player by the Dallas Texans, he had the distinction of being on the franchise's inaugural roster in the newly formed American Football League. In 1961, he distinguished himself when he achieved all star status and one year later (1962), he experienced a world championship with the AFL Title winning Texans. Rochester was a key member of the New York Jets' unit which captured the 1968 AFL Championship and went on to upset the Baltimore Colts in the Super Bowl (January 1969). He totaled 132 career regular season games. After retiring from football, he owned and operated a roofing supply company and worked in the real estate industry.
