Lena was born just outside of Gueydan, LA on September 8, 1932. As a young child she lived in Crowley and Port Arthur before her family finally settled in Kaplan. Lena graduated from Kaplan High School and worked at the Health Department in Abbeville. She married Lloyd Vincent in 1953 and they raised five children. Later in life they began Vincent’s Tree Farm and brought many cherished memories to families from all over. Lena enjoyed her flower gardens and welcoming birds and rabbits to her yard.
She is survived by her son, Barry Vincent and his wife, Beth of Chalmette; her three daughters, Susan Lavergne and her husband, Rick of Sumter, SC, Nancy Trahan and her husband, Billy of Scott, and Jill Sevier and her husband, Matt of Houma; her 16 grandchildren; and her 22 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Lloyd Vincent; and her son, Michael Jude Vincent.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Vincent Funeral Home - Kaplan, 300 N. Eleazar Ave., on Saturday, June 13, 2020 from 8:00 AM until 9:45 AM when the procession departs for the church with a rosary being prayed at 9:00 AM.
