Leonard Watson 79 of Cairo, Illinois, commonly known as Junior or Watson was a Valentine baby. He was born February 14, 1941 to John and Leela Watson in Calmeta, Mississippi.

He later moved to Chicago, Illinois as a child where he attended school and lived with his family until the late 1960's.
Junior moved to Cairo, Illinois where he worked at the Lumberyard and also Burkhart Foam Company.

He loved fishing it was his favorite pastime activity. He also enjoyed teaching others to fish. Leonard joined Holy City Church of God In Christ and gave his life to the Lord and served as a faithful member and Deacon.

He was diagnosed with cancer in 2017. Although, he fought hard to beat the disease. He transitioned to be with the Lord on June 4, 2020 at the Aperion Care Center in Cairo, Illinois.

Junior was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers John, Sonny, Roosevelt and Leroy, four sisters Gloria, Rebecca, Dorothy and Thelma("Sister").

He is survived by one sister Hazel of Chicago, Illinois, two daughters Michelle of Killeen, Texas, and Anitra of Lexington, South Carolina. Three sons Darryl of Belleville, Illinois, Rodney (Tammie) of Columbia, South Carolina and Larry of Austin, Texas.
Also left to mourn are eleven grandchildren, nieces, nephews, family and friends.

Services for Leonard Watson will be held on Saturday June 13, 2020 at Holy City Church Of God In Christ in Cairo, Illinois.
Visitation will be from 12:00 pm until the funeral hour at 1:00 pm.
Cremation Services will be Accorded following the Homegoing service.

Professional Services were Entrusted to Massie Funeral Home in Mounds, Illinois.

CDC guidelines will be followed.
