Ms. Elliott was born January 24, 1933 in Hartsville, AL to the late Newt Kirby and Marcella Clemens Kirby. She worked as a seamstress before her retirement. Ms. Elliott was a member of Ebenezer Baptist Church where she was a member of the WMU. She was also a member of the American Legion Auxiliary, Post 191. Ms. Elliott loved baking. Ms. Elliott was preceded in death by two children, Mary Alice Elliott and Cecil Lamar Elliott, and three brothers, McArthur Kirby, James Kirby, and Doyle Wayne Kirby.
Ms. Elliott was survived by one son, Richard James (Jim) Elliott; three daughters, Linda Sanchez, Doris Jean Hinkle and Sandra Faye Campos (Pedro); three brothers, Charles Kirby (Carlynn), Robert Kirby (Sharon) and Harvey Kirby (Melody); two sisters, Joyce Ann Cowart (Sammy) and Shirley Hornbuckle. Fifteen grandchildren; eighteen great grandchildren and one great great grandchild also survive.
Jerry Franklin, Terry Kirby, Steven Fripp, C J Yarbrough, Pete Yarbrough, Jr., and Mike Jaskulski will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Troy Fripp, Allen Kirby, Gary Kirby, Rodney Barnes, Rufus Yarbrough, and James Haynes
