Dennis Wayne Gordon, age 71 of Blanchardville died on Friday, December 5, 2014 at the Ingleside Nursing Home in Mount Horeb. He was born on July 29, 1943 in Hollandale to Virgil and Eleanor (Swingen) Gordon. He grew up in rural Hollandale in the Sandy Rock area on the family farm. He went o the Clay Hill rural school and graduated from the Hollandale High School in 1962. He worked in utility construction for all his working years, and was a member of the Operating Engineers local 139 union. He was married in 1962 to Jocile Burns. They lived in Hollandale where she was the village telephone operator. They also farmed together on the family farm in Sandy Rock. Denny loved fishing, especially in Gordon Creek. He hunted deer for many years. Denny really loved spending time with his grandchildren, and attending their family and sporting events. He also was a catcher and played for the Hollandale Home Talent baseball team for many years. In his retirement years he enjoyed projects and time spent at farms owned by his son, Rick and Lori Gordon, and special friends, Dave and Marilyn Atwell.

Denny is survived by four children, Rick (Lori) Gordon of Mount Horeb, Jodi (Chuck) Chandler of Blanchardville, Ronie Gordon of Blanchardville, and Angie (Matt) Jorenby of Blanchardville; twelve grandchildren, Abbigail (Matt Blanchard) Gordon, Tyler Gordon, Hailey Gordon, Cayla (Nick) Allen, Kimberlee Chandler, Brooks Chandler, Riley (Chelsey Zersen) Ruegsegger, Ashlee Ruegsegger, Lexee Ruegsegger, Evan Prust, Kade Prust and Rya Jorenby; one great grandchild, Avery Jocile Allen; and one brother Donavaon (Karen) Gordon of Hollandale. He was preceded in death by his parents; and one brother Ronnie Gordon.

Private family funeral services will be held at the Perry Lutheran Church. Rev. Kelli L. Fisher of that church will officiate. The Saether Funeral Home in Blanchardville is assisting the family.

The family would like to express special thanks to Pat Lohr and the entire staff at Ingleside Nursing Home amd Dr. Frontiera for all their loving and supportive care to Denny and his family.
