Patron Saint of France. First Bishop of Paris. Dionysius was sent to Lutetia (Paris) by Pope Fabian where he started to preach. When he destroyed statues of roman gods and emperors he was arrested and beheaded on Mont de Mercure. Afterward he stood up again, took his head and walked 6 kilometer to the village of Catoliacus (Saint Denis). The hill where he died is called Montmarte today. Saint Genevieve built the first church above his grave. His feast is October 9. He is called to help against headaches and dog bites.
