Steven Tyler George, lovingly know by many as “Coach George” 69, of Panama City, FL went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, on June 5, 2020 in the comfort of his home, surrounded by family and love. He was born on May 14, 1951 in Panama City; FL. Steve attended Bay High School, Gulf Coast Community College and attended the University of West Florida on a Tennis Scholarship. He served his Country in the National Guard from 1973 until 1978. He was a lifelong resident of Bay County where he retired after 35 years of service as a School Teacher/Coach for Bay Districts Schools. Steve loved the Great Outdoors. He loved family, God, Country and most of all, children. He was a man of strong Christian faith. He loved his church family at First Baptist Church Panama City, but in recent years felt led to serve as a proud member of Emerald Coast Fellowship. His compassionate heart, strong will, and witty sense of humor will be deeply missed. He was preceded in death by his loving parents, Buford and Mary Frank George. He is survived by his daughter, Lindsay Reeves (England); four grandchildren, Kingsley, Annalise, Blakley, Easton; four sisters, Mary Yvonne George, Donna Golema(Dan), Pam Britt, Lisa Campbell (Rusty); numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Friday, June 12, 2020 at 3 pm at the Bethany Baptist Church, 1404 HWY 79 N Bonifay, FL with Dr. Steve Taylor presiding. Interment will follow the service at the Bethany Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church on Friday from 2-3 pm prior to the service.
