Mrs. Gardner was a member of Lovingston United Methodist Church and a past worthy matron of the Order of Eastern Star 95. She was a guidance counselor in the Nelson County School System.
Surviving, in addition to her mother, are her husband, James E. Gardner of Lovingston; a daughter, Mrs. James Collins Jr., of Fairfax; two brothers, Stonnell F. Bradley of Charlottesville and C. Earl Bradley of Encinitas, Calif.; and a sister, Mrs. Maxine B. Napier of Afton.
A service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Calvary Baptist Church, Lovingston, conducted by the Rev. John Campbell. Interment will be in Hebron Baptist* Church Cemetery, Afton. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 tonight at the Preston Parr Funeral Home in Roseland.
Acting pallbearers will be Paul Poguette, Edward Rothgeb, Michael Vedstal, Horace Bragg, Charles Clement Jr. and Theodore Mabry.
