Amber O. Kennedy of Smithfield Township, Huntingdon, R.D. 1, died at 4:35 a.m. June 5, 1985 in her home. She became ill Monday, June 3, but had been in good health prior to that time. She was born in Altoona, the daughter of Frank and Edna (Dell) Sidler. She had resided in Huntingdon since 1960. Her husband survives, as does a sister. A brother, Ivan, preceded her in death. A number of nieces and nephews also survive. She was educated in the Altoona public schools, graduating from Altoona Hugh School. She trained as a registered nurse at Altoona's Mercy Hospital, and served as a nursing supervisor there for a number of years. She was employed in the newborn nursery at J.C. Blair Hospital for 15 years. Mrs. Kennedy was an office nurse for Dr. Walter Henry, chief of obstetrics and gynecology at Bradford Hospital and she was a visiting nurse for the Blair County Department of Public Assistance. She was also a nurse for the Blair County TB and Health Society and served as a history nurse for the Red Cross in its blood collection program. She was a friend of the First United Methodist Church, Huntingdon, where she was a member of the church choir for many years. She was a member and past matron of the Order of Eastern Star, Bradford Chapter No. 61.
