Kay Solemn Requiem High Mass for Mrs. Lillian Catherine Gebhart, 76, of 1830 W.Wood st, will be 10 a.m. Thursday in St. Patrick's Catholic church. Burial will be in Fairlawn cemetery. Friends may call after 2 p.m. Wednesday at the J.J. Moran & Sons Funeral Home. The Rosary will be recited at 7:30 p.m.Wednesday in the funeral home by members of the St. Patrick's Altar Society.
Mrs. Gebhart was chairman of the board of Gebhart Stores, Inc. and widow of the founder of the firm. She died about 6 p.m. yesterday at her home following a short illness. Mrs. Gebhart ws a life long resident of Decatur. Her husband founded the chain of auto accessory stores which has headquartered in Decatur. She was born July 24, 1886, in Decatur, a daughter of Charles and Lillian Elizabeth Schmorr Yaegel.
She wws a member of St. Patrick's Catholic church, St. Patrick's Altar Society, St. Agnes Court and the Catholic Daughters of America. She married Jesse O. Gebhart July 25, 1908 in Decatur. He died Nov. 15, 1941.
She leaves a son, Gordon of Decatur; a daughter, Mrs. Elmo (Violet) Brinkman of Decatur; three brothers, Robert, Frank and John, all of Decatur; a sister Mrs. Cecelia Gasaway of Decatur; nine grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren.
General offices and Decatur stores of the Gebhart firm will be closed Thursday morning until 11 a.m. Review Monday Dec. 24, 1962
