JACK ABE BERRY passed from this life Wednesday, September 4, 2002, in the Jefferson County Hospital, at the age of 87.
He was born August 11, 1914, to Walter and Maude Berry, in Loco.
He retired from the Rock Island Railroad in 1977. He and Lillie Imogene were united in marriage in Duncan, Oklahoma.
Survivors include his wife, Imogene of the home in Waurika; one son, Johnny Berry and his wife Kim of Waurika; two step-sons, Melvin Copeland and Ricky Copeland, both of Colorado Springs, Colo.; four daughters, Jackie Berry of Wichita Falls, Texas, Ruby Wilkerson of Waurika, Billie June Adcock of Comanche, and Ann Thomas of Duncan; three step-daughters, Judy Greenroyd of Ringling, LaLonnie McGlockin of Milburn, and Carolyn Taylor of Canadian; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Maude Berry; sons Alvin and Sammy Berry; and step-son Dewayne Copeland.
Graveside services for Mr. Berry were held at 10 a.m. Friday, September 6, in the Waurika Cemetery, with Ken Coleman officiating. Burial was in the Waurika Cemetery under the direction of Dudley Funeral Home of Waurika.
