Mrs. Vicki Lynn (Darowish) Camp, age 63, passed away on Thursday, June 4, 2020 at MVHS at St. Elizabeth Medical Center.
Born in Stamford, New York on September 2, 1956, Vicki was the daughter of the late Matthew Sobieraj and the late Charlene McGrade. At the age of 7 she moved to Utica where she has since resided. She attended Utica schools. On February 11, 1982 she was united in marriage to Charles Milton Camp with whom she shared 38 years.
At one time, Vicki was an administrator at Broadacres Skilled Nursing Facility. In her family life, she was an excellent wife and mother, always tending to the needs of her loved ones. She was an avid reader of an array of fiction and non-fiction books. She was an excellent bowler and she loved her ceramics. She was a member of The Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses.
Vicki is survived by her daughter, Shana M. Camp and fiancé Matthew P. Ventimiglia; sons, Michael C. Camp, and Marc A. Camp; stepson, Charles M. Thomas and his wife Damarys, and his two sons, Charles Noah and Charles DeLonta; and her grandchildren, Charles, Anthony, Kayla, Matthew, Jayden, Aaleigha, Brielle, and Dahlia. She also leaves her sisters and brothers-in-law, Sheryl and Paul Bohn, Tammie Sobieraj, Michele and John Bouse, Theresa and Miguel Girona, and Lisa and Mike Liles; brother, Michael Sobieraj; uncle, Francis McGrade; nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins, many in-laws; and her friends, Linda Balfort, and Tammy Pascasio. She was predeceased by her brother, Matthew Sobieraj.
Due to current health concerns and in keeping with federal and state regulations, the family will honor Vicki’s life privately.
