She was a daughter of the late John and Sarah Pike Carpenter.
Mrs. Sprague attended school in Readsboro, VT and two years at the Vermont Academy, graduating in 1926. She taught the second grade at Readsboro Central School for several years, retiring in 1967.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James Gordon Sprague, and is survived by one son, Walter Sprague of Orrtanna; two step-sons, Roger Sprague of Gettysburg and Harold Sprague of Whitingham, VT; five granddaughters; six grandsons; one stepgranddaughter, and several great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by two grandsons; one sister, Edna Grant, and two brothers, John Carpenter and Dana Carpenter.
Interment was in Readsboro’s Village Cemetery.
