WEAVER - Janet E., 89, of Laurel View died January 28, 2020 at Laurel View. Born September 26, 1930 in Johnstown the daughter of John W. and Jesse (Cobaugh) Edwards. Preceded in death by parents, husband Dan D. Weaver who died September 19, 2001, and brothers Jack and Richard. Survived by these children Judith married to Harry Reckner, Dan, Jr., Ellen married to Douglas Leckey, and Susan married to Louis Popolo. Also survived by 7 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. Janet enjoyed cooking, baking, canning, and visiting with family and friends. Born and raised in Westmont she quickly adapted to farm life after marrying a dairy farmer. Later the family moved to a potato farm where she helped with the planting, harvesting, and grading the potatoes. Her last years were spent at Laurel View Village where she enjoyed family visits, activities, and looking out at the courtyard from her room where she could watch the birds, squirrels, flowers and the moon. She especially liked to watch the falling snow. She loved the snow. Family will receive friends Saturday from 11 A.M. until time of funeral service at Noon at the George E. Mason Funeral Home, Inc. Davidsville. Pastor Brian Simmons officiating. Interment Kaufman Cemetery. Family asks donations be made to Tire Hill Church of the Brethren in Janet's memory.
