Helen Harrod Alston, age 87, left this earth peacefully to join her husband, Will, on Friday, May 22, 2020. Born in Pitt County, NC on May 18, 1933, she was the daughter of the late Merlin Frederick Harrod and Frances Irene Little Harrod. She was also preceded in death by her loving husband, Will N. Alston in 2001.
Helen leaves behind to cherish her memory, two sons, Michael W. Alston and wife, Nancy, of Norfolk, VA and William A. Alston and wife, Jennifer, of Rocky Mount. She is also survived by four grandchildren, Molly Alston Orr and husband, Samuel, of Washington, DC, Peter Alston and wife, Annie, of Charlottesville, VA, Ashley Alston Chambers and husband, Jamie, and Andrea Alston Ruggero and husband, Chris, of Raleigh; and three great-grandchildren, Hazel Chambers, and Maxwell and Lucy Orr.
