Shelly was born August 5, 2002 in Spartanburg, the daughter of Troy Jay Burgess and Candie Webber Uldrick of the home. She was a 2020 Honor graduate of Union County High School and was currently employed with Food Lion in Roebuck. Shelly was also a dirt bike mechanic working with the pit crew of J.T. Wright’s racing team. Her plans were to attend Greenville Technical College automotive program and work as an intern with BMW. She was a member of the 4-H Club where she was a member of the Air-Rifle Team and had won first place for Union Co. and third place for the State in championships. Shelly was a talented artist who also loved horses and playing sports.
Surviving in addition to her parents are a sister, Loretta Lynn Burgess of the home; her paternal grandmother, Virginia “Teck” Burgess of Jonesville; two aunts, Angie and Danny Jones of Buffalo, and Cindy Roberts of Jonesville; an uncle, Ricky Roberts of Jonesville; numerous cousins including Chaz Roberts, Jada Jones, and Michael Vanderford. Shelly was predeceased by her maternal grandparents, Robbie and Betty Webber, her paternal grandfathers, J.L. Burgess and Frank “Buddy” Roberts; an aunt, Scarlet Roberts and an uncle, Kenneth Roberts.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Friday, June 12, 2020 at Holcombes Jonesville Chapel conducted by the Rev. Stacey Strickland. Burial will follow at Jonesville Memorial Gardens.
Active pallbearers will be Richard Turner, Stevie Turner, Josh Lancaster, Tae Boyd, Evan McCall and Scotty Porter. Honorary pallbearers Phillip Carter, J.T. Wright, Michael Vanderford and Chaz Roberts.
Visitation will be held from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM Thursday evening at Holcombe’s Jonesville Chapel.
