She was the daughter of;
Roelof Covenhoven Schenck 1778–1815 and Sarah Christine Bennett-Schenck 1781–1846

On 9 Jan 1833 in Monmouth, New Jersey, She 1st married Crawford David Bennett (1810–1848). There were 4 children born to this marriage.

Around 1843 The family moved from Colts Neck and headed West. They crossed the Mississippi river to Illinois and after prospecting about for some time they located at Hannibal, Missouri. This part of the country was at that time the Western Frontier. The hardships encountered caused the death of Crawford David Bennett and two of their children. Discouraged and disheartened Sarah Schneck-Bennett and her two remaining children John S Bennett and William M Bennett returned to Colt's Neck. This was around 1848.
