Laura DeLoach Ferguson, 87, wife of Bennie Ralph Ferguson, passed away at her home on St. Helena Island on Sunday, December 3, 2017.

Laura was born in Hampton County on June 2, 1930., daughter of the late Archie B. and Hattie Sue DeLoach.

Laura was preceded in death by her brothers; William, Archie and Cape and her sister, Mary Sue Brown.

Beside her husband, she is survived by three daughters; Joyce Dobbs (Thomas) of Indianapolis, Sue Ann Rigg of Lady’s Island and Bonnie Pulaski (Doug) of St. Helena Island; one brother, Thurman “Dick” DeLoach of Ridgeland; three grandsons, Stephen Rigg, Bennie Pulaski and Joshua Pulaski; six great grandchildren and another great granddaughter due any day.

Laura’s love for her family embodied the true meaning of family. She was happiest when she was cooking and taking care of her home and loved ones. She was endearingly called “Nanny” by her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

A graveside service will be held Thursday, December 7, 2017 at 11 o’clock am at Forest Lawn Cemetery.
