Bertha Robillard Neal was a caring and loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, and a homemaker. She was also devoted to her former husband of 50 years of marriage, and was always concerned about the well-being of everyone around her. She died at 7:10 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 23, 2003, at her home in Morganza. She was 78 and a native of New Roads. Visiting was held at St. Ann's Catholic Church, Morganza, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday. Visiting at the church from 8 a.m. until religious service at 11 a.m. Monday, conducted by the Rev. Michael Schatzle. Entombment in church mausoleum. Survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Mrs. Paul Lana Roy, Lettsworth; a son, George F. "Doodle" Neal, Morganza; a sister, Lorraine Guillot, Baton Rouge; a brother, Ivy Robillard Jr., New Roads; three grandchildren, Jodi Smith Frey, Paul Genin Roy and Colter Neal Roy; and three great-grandchildren, Caleb Todd Frey, Cade Alexander Frey and Ryland Elizabeth Frey. Preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Foster G. Neal; parents, Ivy and Blanche Robillard; sisters, Lena Cappel and Ruth Fabre; and a brother, Joseph Robillard. Pallbearers will be Paul Genin Roy, Colter Neal Roy, Gary Fabre, Johnny LaGrone, Wesley Neal and Frankie Neal. She was a member of St. Ann's Catholic Church. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Pointe Coupee Hospice, St. Ann's/St. Vincent de Paul Building Fund or a charity of choice. Niland's Funeral Service Inc., New Roads, in charge of arrangements.
