Major League Baseball Player. For nine seasons (1959 to 1965 and 1967 to 1968), he was a pitcher with the Cleveland Indians, St. Louis Cardinals, Philadelphia Phillies, Cincinnati Reds and California Angels. Born Lawrence Donald Locke, he attended Redstone High School in Pennsylvania where he played football and baseball. Signed by the Cleveland Indians as an amateur free agent in 1953, his career was delayed while he served with the United States Army. He made his Major League debut on June 18, 1959 and pitched in 24 games that season. The following season (1960), he produced a career high 123 innings pitched and tossed 2 complete game shutouts. In 165 career regular season games, he compiled a 16 win, 15 loss record with a lifetime 4.02 ERA, in 416 innings pitched. After retiring from baseball, he owned and operated a beauty salon.
