She was born in Camden, June 27, 1858 a daughter of Michael and Mary Campbell O’Rourke. She was the last of 17 children and at one time her father and five brothers were in service in the Civil War.
On Oct. 7, 1880, she was married to Mr. Swanson and the next year they went to Bradford, Pa., where they lived 15 years. Mr. Swanson was engaged in the oil business and they lived in Texas, Oklahoma, Wyoming and Illinois before returning to this section in 1922. They lived on the Taberg road until moving to this village in 1937.
Mrs. Swanson was a member of Trinity Episcopal Church and of Tulsa Chapter 133, O. E. S.
Surviving besides her husband are several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. at the J. Floyd Smith funeral home. Miner Ave., with the Rev. Alfred Martin officiating. Burial will be made in Forest Park cemetery.
