Philip was born on Jan. 6, 1933, in Moonsville, to Arnold and Maggie (Lykins) Brown. He was a 1950 graduate of Yorktown High School and went on to serve in the United States Navy.
Philip worked for Delco Remy for 42 years. Philip also farmed and was a member of the Madison Park Church of God. Philip enjoyed mowing his yard, eating out, and spending time with is family and friends.
Philip is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Ramona (Graddy) Brown; two children, Keith Brown (Teri) and Karel Hawk (Mark); his sister, Vera Ingram; eight grandchildren, Christopher Baker (Krisha), Lacy Engle, Sienna Hoover, Gaylan Damron, Gabe Damron, Jeremiah Brown (Jess) Meagan Cooley (Tyson), and Maddi Hawk; seven great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Philip was preceded in death by his parents; and daughter, Kathleen Engle.
A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, June 8, 2020, at Mount Pleasant Cemetery, 2900 S. Highbanks Road, Daleville.
Military graveside rites will be conducted by the Veterans of Delaware County Honor Guard.
