Evelyn Walker was born December 9, 1949 to Samuel and Leola Walker (Deceased). She was the fifth child of ten children; preceded in death by 5 siblings, Vera, Samuel Jr., Milton, Oliver (Blood) and Terry Walker. Ebe’s childhood education was completed at Courter tech and years later she went on to further her education at the University of Cincinnati. Ebe began her career working at a daycare center. She worked at General Hospital that later became known as University Hospital where she worked for 20+ years. Ebe worked all her life ending up at Fifth Third Bank for 15+ years where she was currently employed when she departed this life.
Anyone who knew and loved Ebe knows she loved to argue, fuss and talk trash. This made her who she was. In her younger days she loved hanging out with her brothers playing cards and gambling. Money, jewelry, cars, the casino, the Ohio lottery and cooking, were a few of her favorite things and oh yes! Nobody could touch her “famous greens”. The family also loved coming to her for advice even though she would give it to them STRAIGHT NO CHASER. With all of these things, everyone knows that she had a big heart and was always a giver.
In December of 2019 she finally got her dream of having a house, living with her daughter and being able to enjoy her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren on a regular basis which brought her much joy!
Three years ago Ebe was diagnosed with Lung Cancer where she battled the diagnoses and won. In March of this year the lung cancer returned which after a fight (which Ebe was known to do when challenged) the disease took its toll and she transitioned.
Ebe leaves to cherish her memory; One daughter Lisa, Two Sons James and Tyrone Lamont, Two Sisters Deborah Spivey and Valencia Walker, Two brothers Preston and Eddie Walker, 14 grandchildren James, Jamaine, Butter (Charnee), Ebony, Shawn, La’Nique, Cortez, Dewayne, Rashad (deceased), Jayla, Siri, Tavon, Tyler, Taylor and Titan, Eight Great-Grandchildren. She is also survived by a host of special relatives.
