Janie was the daughter of Ephraim and Elizabeth Gail Hock Burris. Her parents are buried in Garden of Memories. She married George McCullar. Their daughter, Virginia "Jean" McCullar Karnes is also buried in Garden of Memories. Janie later married W. S. Hubbs who preceded her in death.

OBITUARY: Palestine (TX) Herald-Press, Thursday, 5 July 1984:

Funeral services for Janie Hubbs, of Route 7, will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Bailey ‘Funeral Home Memorial Chapel, the Rev. Roger Marsh officiating. Burial will be at Garden of Memories Cemetery.

Mrs. Hubbs died Tuesday at Park Place Nursing Home.

A member of Lone Pine Baptist Church, she was born Feb. 23, 1903, in Decatur, Ark., a daughter of Ephraim and Elizabeth Gail Hock Burris.

Survivors include two sons, Lavell Moss of Pasadena and Louis Edward Bittle of Rockdale; two daughters, Mrs. Robert Karnes and Mrs. George Trezise, both of Palestine; two brothers, Bill and J. D. Burris, both of Palestine; two sisters, Mrs. Bulah Ruth of DeQueen, Ark and Mrs. Addie Bowman of Palestine; 13 grandchildren, and 12 great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her husband, W. S. Hubbs, and a daughter, Mrs. Virginia Karnes.
Pallbearers will be grandsons and nephews. Condolence calls will be received at the George Trezise residence, 401 San Diego Street.
