Barbara Grace Draper, of the Town of Wheatfield, passed away at home on Thursday, May 14, 2020. She was 86. Born in Niagara Falls, New York on April 21, 1934, a daughter of Richard and Evangeline (Clements) Veihdeffer. She was a graduate of the former LaSalle Jr/Sr High School.
Barbara worked for NY Telephone, McCory’s Dept Store ; Voyager Emblem and retired from Verizon Communications.
Barbara loved to dance. She and her husband, Guyon belonged to several dancing groups, they enjoyed square dancing, round dancing and line dancing. They also enjoyed traveling together. Sadly, he predeceased her in 2008. She was a former member of St. Vincent de Paul Parish and St. Peter’s RC Church.
She is the beloved mother of Darlene (David) Ivey and Danny Draper; dearest grandmother of Christopher (Kara Stock) Ivey and Jennifer (Anthony) DeVantier; great grandmother of Emily DeVantier; dearest sister of Robert S. (Nancy) Veihdeffer; Richard L. (Mischelle) Veihdeffer; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents, her husband and siblings, Beverly J. Deal; Joan Rowland and Edwin V. Veihdeffer.
Private services will be held for the family. The family wishes to extend their greatest appreciation to the staff of Elderwood Independent Living Facility.
