Louis M. Cortez, 91, a native and resident of Kraemer, died Friday, Aug. 17, 2007.
Visitation will be from 8:30 a.m. to funeral time Tuesday at St. Lawrence the Martyr Catholic Church in Kraemer. Mass will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the church, with burial in the church cemetery.
He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Maggie U. Cortez; one son, Alvin Cortez; three daughters, Gertrude Cavalier, Arlene Granier and Debra C. Morvant; one brother, Lloyd Cortez Sr.; two sisters, Exene Loupe and Tousillia Kraemer; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Septime Cortez Sr. and Marcelliene D. Cortez; one son, Brianel Cortez;
one granddaughter Cherise C.Bourg.
five brothers, Moise, Joseph F., Emilien C., Louis Joseph and Septime Cortez Jr.; and four sisters, Evelyn Loupe, Yvonne Usea, Edith Hotard and Marcelline Loupe.
He was a U.S. Army World War II veteran.
