Mary Jane was employed as office coordinator for Budget Division, Farm Service Agency, U.S, Dept. Agriculture, Washington, DC, until her retirement to spend time with grandkids. From her office, she witnessed the plane hitting The Pentagon on September 11, 2001. She was a life-long member of the Trenton First United Methodist Church and Trenton Garden Club.
Mary Jane was a caring and giving woman. She had a difficult time saying "no" when a family member or friend needed help. In her giving spirit, she served in many roles with area food pantries and youth groups.
Upon the birth of her first grandson, she received the nickname of MeeMaw and she is still MeeMaw to all her precious grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Mary Jane is survived by her husband, sons, daughter-in-law's, daughters, son-in-law, sister-in-law and husband, sister-in-law and husband, and 14 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces & nephews, other extended family and a host of friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Willis Lee and Zelda Selman, Brother W.F. Selman and sister-in-law Jeri, and Brother David Selman and sister-in-law Jane.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the food bank of your choice.
A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 pm, Saturday, June 13, 2020, at Burns Cemetery, with Pastor Wayne Walters officiating in Trenton, Texas.
Mary Jane was loved and will be deeply missed by many. The family wishes to thank everyone for the outpouring of support during this difficult time.
