Billy H. Jarvis, age 67, of Hamden, passed away Thursday, October 9, 2014, at the Grant Medical Center in Columbus, Ohio. He was born January 28, 1947 in Wellston, Ohio, to the late George and Nancy Williamson Jarvis. Billy was a former furnace stoker at Buckeye Steel in Columbus and he enjoyed raising pigeons and gardening in his yard. He is survived by his children, Eileen Jarvis of New York, Deanna Jarvis Vance of Columbus, Shannon Jarvis Webb of Missouri and Caston Jarvis of London, Oh.; sisters, Fayette Stone of Hamden, Sue Jarvis of W.Va. and Margaret Rodriguez of New York; brother, Tom Jarvis Williamson of Lima; longtime friend, Patricia Jarvis of Columbus; former wife, Patty Napper of Hamden, as well as several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, Billy was preceded in death by his children, Irene Jarvis, Billy Jarvis and Angela Jarvis Bell; sisters, Mary Elisabeth Murray and Joann Savage, and brothers, Roger Jarvis, Timothy Dale Jarvis Williamson, Johnny Jarvis, Vernon Jarvis, Douglas Stone and Don Jarvis, and his former wife, Nancy Irene Bazler. Calling hours will be Monday from 5 to 7 P.M. at the McWilliams Funeral Home in Wellston. Funeral service will follow at 7 P.M. with Pastor Jim Eberts officiating. At Billy's request, cremation will follow the service.
