A veteran of World War II and a survivor of Stalag 17-B. He was a loving husband and father and a good friend to those who knew him.
He is survived by his wife June M. Polvado, and partner of 41 years, sons John R. Polvado, Dallas, TX and David Ellett Polvado, Flower Mound TX and daughter Sheri G. Poage, Dallas, TX, stepchildren Kevin E. Bailes, Denton, TX and Cherie D. Dreyer, Rowlett, TX. Grandchildren Brett R. Polvado, Shelbi L. Polvado and Allison M. Polvado of Moody TX. He is also survived by his brother Roy Dale Polvado, Henrietta, TX, sisters Bobbie Simons, Macon, GA., Minerva Ownby, Springtown, TX, Patricia Rodgers, Grandbury, TX, and many nieces and nephews.
A memorial Service will be held for him at Anderson Clayton Funeral Home, 1111 Military Parkway, Mesquite, TX at 2:pm July 23, 2005. His body was donated to the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School Willed Body Program. Any donations should be made in his name to the Alzheimer's Research Association.

Robert Leo Polvado was the son of Robert William Polvado and Loma Howard. They lived near Lamkin, Comanche County, Texas when he was born. Robert William Polvado married Loma Howard August 6, 1919 after the death of his first wife.
