Stanley M. Elsen, 61, died August 19, 2012 at Hutchinson Regional Hospital, Hutchinson, Kansas. He was born January 29, 1951 at Great Bend, Kansas, the son of Nicholas and Emelia (Schwartz) Elsen. He married Janet Rodie May 8, 1976 at Great Bend. A Timken resident for twenty-six years, Mr. Elsen came from Pawnee Rock.
Mr. Elsen was a member of the Prince of Peace Parish at St. Patrick Catholic Church.
Survivors include his wife, Janet Elsen, of the home; two sons: David Elsen and his companion, Melissa Hunsberger, Colby, Kansas; and Ryan Elsen and his wife Kimberly, Great Bend; three sisters: Vera Henning, Great Bend; Betty Staudinger, Beaver, Kansas; and Connie Watts, Great Bend; three brothers: Nick Elsen, Great Bend, Jerome Elsen, Great Bend; and Ralph Elsen, Parsons, Kansas; and two grandsons: Ethan Elsen and Owen Elsen. He was preceded in death by one daughter, Jennifer Elsen Wylie; one brother, Richard Elsen; and one sister, Julitta Dyer.
Vigil service will be at 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, August 22, 2012 at Bryant Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, August 23, 2012 at St. Patrick Catholic Church. Father Reginald A. Urban will be celebrant. Burial will be in Great Bend Cemetery North. Friends may call from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., Wednesday, August 22, 2012 at Bryant Funeral Home.
